This proactive measure aims to safeguard users across all six of its markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
Effective immediately, users will no longer be able to create new listings for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour tickets. Additionally, existing listings on the platform will be systematically removed by next Monday to ensure compliance with the temporary suspension.
To bolster fraud detection efforts, Carousell will employ a combination of advanced AI detection technology and manual moderation. Users are also encouraged to contribute to the platform's security by promptly reporting any suspicious listings using the 'Report Listing' feature available on Carousell's app and website.
This initiative builds upon Carousell's ongoing commitment to enhancing security measures within its marketplace. Since October 3, 2023, Carousell has mandated Singpass verification for Singapore sellers seeking to upload listings in the Tickets & Vouchers category. By implementing stringent verification processes and fostering user vigilance, Carousell aims to create a safer and more trustworthy environment for buying and selling tickets online.
