“A pelmet is a long, narrow piece of wood or fabric which is fitted at the top of a window for decoration and to hide the curtain rail.” - Collins Dictionary.

“However, a pelmet is more than just the definition mentioned above. It is not just for hiding curtain rails or for aesthetic purposes, but also for supporting air conditioner units. It is constructed above a window, on top of a door, or even as part of a wall.”

What are the benefits of Curtain Pelmet?

Curtain pelmet is used to cover the entire curtain rail at the top of the window. Hence, it provides a neat and clean appearance for the window. The pelmet itself can be furnished with various blinds and curtains. Curtain pelmet will also help to prevent unwanted light from entering the room through the gaps of the roller blind's rollers/ curtain rails. In turn, it improves insulation against light and heat from entering the room. Thus, helping to maintain better temperature inside the room.

What are the benefits of Aircon Pelmet?

Aircon pelmet creates a recess in a false ceiling to hide the air conditioner unit. Not only that, the recessed gap provides easy maintenance for the air conditioner, especially when it needs to be serviced by providing enough room to clean and service the air condition unit.

Just like curtain pelmet, aircon pelmet helps to maintain an overall neat and seamless design to the room. Not only that, aircon pelmets help to regulate good air circulation within the room. Without it, the air conditioner unit might be too close to the false ceiling and hence affects the airflow.
