“Learn to listen to your own body! We have to learn to know our bodies better and not ignore all the warning signs that your body gives. Cancer is an alarm that went off!”

-Tricia Pang on the CNA938 radio news (8 Oct 2020)

Battling with cancer for about 8 years, Tricia Pang was first diagnosed with breast cancer approximately 13 years ago at the early age of 32. She is a four-time cancer survivor diagnosed with three times breast cancer and one-time skin cancer.

Her personal journey with cancer has led her to change her career path and become a cancer coach. Tricia Pang might be one of the few, if not the only, cancer coaches for women in Singapore.

Tricia mentioned in an interview with The Wellness Insider that she knew she wanted to have a meaningful career after being diagnosed with cancer. She then enrolled in various courses to help her understand the way humans think, where she obtained her professional certification in Coaching. She also started volunteering at Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) as a support group coordinator and befriender, sharing her cancer experiences to support women diagnosed with breast cancer. That was how it was started!

While the medical teams are dealing with physical cancer, Tricia will be dealing with the emotional and mental cancer.

Being a cancer survivor herself and a cancer coach for women, she has realised that those women are facing issues beyond just cancer. Cancer might be the starting point of their conversations, yet many emotional issues actually do come with the diagnosis!

Tricia is here to untie their emotional and mental knots, empower them to lead a more purposeful life, and help them move forward and embrace their experiences as lessons. She will support the women through this life-changing journey from diagnosis to treatment and the recovery process post-treatment.

Cancer Coaching has allowed her to move in the direction of her personal motto "Aspire to Inspire before I Expire."

She is currently an active volunteer at BCF, facilitating the monthly support group and counselling women newly diagnosed with cancer through phone and hospital visits.

Tricia has been accredited a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from International Coach Federation. She is also a Time Line Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Program-trained & Mindfulness practitioner. She will give seminar at awareness talks to corporations & community organisations on a regular basis.
