Government subsidies on mandatory Covid-19 tests for vaccinated workers who stay/work in higher-risk sectors will extend to end of this year!

Types of Tests

The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Fast and Easy Testing (FET) rostered routine testing are compulsory to be conducted for these sectors below:

  • Workers who stay at dormitories

  • Those who work in the construction industry, marine and processing industry, aviation industry and maritime industry.

  • Employees who work in F&B establishments, personal care services, gyms, and healthcare services (due to exposure to the unmasked and vulnerable clients/patrons)

More Subsidies

The government will continue to subsidise Covid-19 testing costs for:

  • Unvaccinated workers who are not medically eligible to be vaccinated until 31st December 2021.

  • Cost for the additional testing under the “vaccinate or regular test” (VoRT) regime, starting from and for selected sectors on 1st October 2021.

For Companies & Businesses

The VoRT regime is conducted twice a week for the unvaccinated workers in selected sectors

using antigen rapid tests.

Companies can require workers and employees to bear the cost if they prefer not to be vaccinated. (Except for those medically ineligible for the jabs)

Companies and businesses are advised to factor in the cost of mandatory tests into their business operation starting next year.
