A non-profit movement by a group of 23 students from different schools called Project Haircatchers, aims to make a minimum of 50 wigs for cancer patients this year.

Bali Pink Ribbon, Cancer Society of Maldives, FeM Surgery, and Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) are the four partner organisations that will receive the distributed wigs from this project.

Let’s make a difference in the lives of cancer patients!

The main hair donation drive will take place this month and next month. Project Haircathcers is partnering with two hair salons who will be giving out the haircuts for the donors.

From 7th Feb till 27th Feb, the already signed-up donors can go to Hazelina Salon located at Delfi Orchard. Meanwhile, D'tress Salon in Clementi will be giving out haircuts from 7th March to 27th March.

But most hair donors still have to find their own means to cut their hair, as the salons provide free haircuts only to donors allocated by Project Haircatchers who have signed up for a slot to cut their hairs.

However, as of yesterday, they have received a high influx of hair donors and yet are still lacking in funds to cover the costs of making the wigs. Each wig consists of hair donated from 3-4 people and it costs $180 to make.

Hence, Project Haircatchers has closed the hair donation interest form early. But rest assured! You can still help to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients by raising some funds for the cost of making the wigs. Their goal is to achieve $10,000 and they are still in need of $9000 to create a high supply of wigs from the already donated hairs.
