In Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that a total of 993 general practitioner (GP) clinics will remain open at varying hours during the Chinese New Year public holidays. Among these clinics, 17 will operate 24 hours a day throughout the festive period from February 9 to February 12. Information regarding the clinics and their operating schedules can be found on the MOH website.
The MOH encourages individuals, including children, who feel unwell during the festive season to seek medical attention at their nearest GP clinics for minor ailments and recommended to either make an appointment or contact the clinics beforehand.
The MOH stressed that hospital accident and emergency departments should be accessed only in cases of serious or life-threatening emergencies, such as chest pain, breathlessness, and uncontrollable bleeding.
To ensure swift conveyance for those facing emergency situations, MOH advised individuals who are not experiencing life-threatening emergencies to refrain from calling the 995 emergency hotline.
