BlendJet has initiated a voluntary recall of 4.8 million BlendJet2 blenders, as stated by both the company and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. These blenders were previously available for purchase from retailers such as Amazon, Target, Costco, and Walmart, according to their respective websites.
However, the company has clarified that currently available BlendJet 2 models for sale are not affected by the recall. In its recall announcement, BlendJet stated that earlier versions of the BlendJet2 pose risks of overheating or blade breakage, prompting consumers to cease using the recalled blenders immediately.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has highlighted the dangers associated with the recalled blenders, citing potential fire hazards and laceration risks from broken blender blades.
BlendJet has committed to providing free replacement base units (with matching lids) for affected blender owners who register for the recall. Alternatively, Costco has offered its customers the option to return the blender for a full refund.
